MDisputes assists resolution of EPC contract and sale of joint venture holding in Italy’s first small-scale LNG terminal
Providing in-house counsel support, MDisputes’ Filippo Zuti assisted Gas and Heat SpA, an Italian-based Engineering Procurement & Construction company (EPC) specializing in fuel storage in completing the successful construction and delivery of the Higas liquified natural gas (LNG) terminal in Oristano, Sardinia (Italy). In addition, Filippo assisted Gas and Heat in the sale of its shareholding in the completed terminal to Avenir LNG, a subsidiary of Norway’s Stolt-Nielsen.
Filippo worked in close coordination with Gas and Heat’s project management, legal, and leadership teams, as well as MDisputes’ technical collaborator, Michele Mitri.
MDisputes’ Michael Mcilwrath said: “It’s an honor for MDisputes to have played a supporting role to Gas and Heat’s significant step forward. The Oristano LNG terminal, based on a patented design by Gas & Heat, demonstrates Italy’s ability to rapidly diversify its sources of energy through low-cost construction of LNG storage.”
