Setting the Scene for Net-Zero Enterprises
Climate change and energy transition have become increasingly important matters over the last few years. The goal of net- zero carbons emissions by 2050 is leading governments to set out legislative frameworks directed to tackle the issue which compel businesses to be prepared in effectively deal with new legal, social and ethical scenario.
But this must also be perceived as a source of new opportunities and incentives.
On 1 November 2021, on the occasion of the UNCITRAL Asia Pacific Judicial Summit 2021, an event part of the Hong Kong Legal Week, MDisputes collaborator and co-founder of Climate Change Counsel Annette Magnusson held an intervention on the role of UNCITRAL instruments in addressing climate change, including the UNCITRAL Net Zero Legislative Project, and the inherent strengths of green contract drafting.
